....................20 days to Oscar night

Finally finished the Lord of the Rings trilogy special edition dvds
It took me about a week and a half and it was very well worth it
especially the added bits, all the documentaries,etc...I feel I know a lot
more about Tolkien and the film making process as done by the cast and creww
of the trilogy

The SAG was held last night...the results saw the expected wins for Foxx and Swank
and the first major wins for Freeman and Blanchett

Sideways won the ensemble award. It is quite disappointing that the cast of The Aviator
did not win this award (the SAGS usually award this the largest cast) but it seems(at least from
the media point of view) Million Dollar Baby is now the frontrunner for Oscar's top award - best picture

Coupled with the recent DGA win by Clint Eastwood for Million$Baby - things are not looking too great for The Aviator

I am still holding out hope for The Aviator to win at next saturday's BAFTAS ...but if Vera Drake takes that
then I have to reconcile myself to the fact that The Aviator, save for a miracle (and that sometimes happens at the Oscars)
will not win best picture and Marty not get that long eluded best director Oscar
